Therapeutic farm
Farm psychology involves the therapeutic use of farming practices to facilitate healing. Also known as green care or therapeutic farming, care farming is supervised and structured, providing “farming-related activities for individuals with a defined need.” These activities include things like animal husbandry (livestock, small animals, poultry), agriculture, horticulture, woodland management, produce collection, craft-making, woodworking, garden tending, habitat restoration, and more.
Cassava cultivation.
Tapioca (Manihot esculenta) is a Euphorbiaceous woody shrub native to south America, cultivated extensively as an annual crop in tropical region for its edible tuberous roots. The roots are nutritious and wholesome, and are used as a supplementary food as it is a major source of carbohydrates. the tapioca plants give the highest yield of food energy per cultivate area per day among crop plants. Apart from starch, tapioca roots also contain significant amount of calcium, phosphorus and vitamins C. in Kerala cassava is a secondary staple food and is known as the poor man’s vegetable. Boiled cassava is normally eaten with fish Currey (kappayum meenum) or meat, and is a traditional favorite of many Keralites. kappa biriyani-cassava mixed with meat is a popular dish in Kerala. Various processed products of exporting importance are also made from tapioca.
One of the main crops grown on our property is tapioca. We grow this unique crop for both commercial and domestic usage, and we also provide our canaan care farm guests a variety of cassava meals. This cultivation yields a variety of value-added items that we produce.
